Hudco Aims to Raise $1 Billion for Infrastructure Projects by March
A government-owned company in India called Hudco wants to borrow a lot of money, about $1 billion, from big international banks.
They want this money to help build new infrastructure, like roads and buildings, in India.
Hudco is talking to banks like the Asian Development Bank and Germany's KfW to get the loans.
They hope to get all the money by the end of March.
Besides loans, Hudco is also selling special bonds that help people save on taxes.
The company has been doing well lately, approving more loans and giving out more money to projects.
They are also working to reduce their bad loans, making sure they only invest in projects that are likely to succeed.
Hudco is in discussions with global development institutions like KfW, ADB, and AIIB to raise $1 billion for infrastructure projects.
The company aims to finalize these fundraises by March of the current financial year.
Hudco is also raising funds through 54 EC Capital Gain Bonds, having mobilized ₹50 crore so far and aiming for another ₹150 crore.
Loan sanctions increased by 22% to ₹92,985 crore in the first half of FY26, with disbursements rising to ₹25,838 crore.
Hudco is focusing on investment-grade projects to achieve net zero Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) within 15 months, with gross NPAs currently at 1.21%.
