TTD Land Transfer to Oberoi Sparks Scam Allegations
Some leaders are saying that the government did something bad by giving away very valuable land that belongs to a famous temple to a big hotel company called Oberoi.
They say the land is worth a lot of money and that the government didn't do it fairly.
They also say the government gave the hotel company a lot of breaks on money they should have paid.
The leaders are upset because they think the government is hurting the temple and the environment.
They want the government to stop the deal and give the land back to the temple.
Opposition leaders allege that the NDA coalition government conspired to transfer 20 acres of prime TTD land near Alipiri to Oberoi Hotels under the guise of tourism development.
The land transfer is valued at over ₹460 crore (SRO value) and over ₹3,000 crore in market terms, exchanged for tourism department land worth about ₹18 crore.
Allegations include lack of transparency, major financial concessions to Oberoi, and environmental concerns due to the felling of red sanders trees.
Opposition leaders claim the land transfer is illegal, immoral, and the biggest scam in TTD history, demanding cancellation of the land transfer.
The government has not yet responded to the allegations, and opposition leaders urge religious leaders and devotees to protect the sanctity of TTD properties.
