Chinese Robot Runs Faster Than Usain Bolt’s Record
A Chinese robot named Tiangong Ultra ran 100 metres in 9.39 seconds.
That was faster than Usain Bolt’s human record of 9.58 seconds.
The robot did this at a competition in Beijing.
Another robot, called Lightning, finished in 9.47 seconds.
Lightning had to be carried away afterward.
These robots have human-like bodies and can run like people.
The article describes the achievement as impressive but also unusual.
It asks why robots need to learn how to run.
The article does not provide a definite answer to that question.

The run occurred during a preliminary round on August 22.
Usain Bolt’s human 100-metre record is 9.58 seconds, set in 2009.
Honor’s robot Lightning finished in 9.47 seconds but was carried away on a stretcher.
