North Guwahati Proposed as Heritage Town
The Heritage Conservation Society of Assam wants North Guwahati to be called a heritage town.
They did a big study and found that this area has lots of old and important places from different times, like temples, forts, and houses.
These places show the history and culture of Assam.
The society wrote a letter to the Chief Minister to make this happen.
Right now, North Guwahati is getting new buildings and better places for people to visit.
One big plan is to make the riverfront nicer with places to walk, play, and better boat rides.
They want to make sure these new buildings don't forget about the old and important places.
