Government Procurement Boosts Farmer Welfare
The central government has approved the buying of pulses like red gram, green gram, and black gram from farmers in Andhra Pradesh.
This is to help farmers get good prices for their crops and protect them from price changes in the market.
The government will buy these pulses at a fixed price called the Minimum Support Price (MSP).
The Andhra Pradesh government has promised to start the buying process quickly and make sure it is fair and transparent.
In Uttar Pradesh, the government has also increased the purchase of paddy and other crops like millet and sorghum.
More farmers are involved this year, and the process has become more transparent and faster.
The government has also made payments to farmers more quickly and without the help of middlemen.
