Majlis Campaign Offers Guidance for Parents of Queer Teens
A group in Mumbai called Majlis, with help from young LGBTQ+ people, made a guide for parents.
It's like a set of tips on how to talk to their kids who are figuring out their gender or who they like.
The guide was shared online during Pride Month.
It includes things parents should say, like "I'm here to support you."
It also includes things parents shouldn't say, like "You're too young to know."
The goal is to help parents understand and support their kids better, so it's easier for them to talk about who they are.
Majlis, a Mumbai-based support group, launched a social media campaign called 'Dear Parents' for LGBTQ+ youth.
The campaign provides guidance to parents on how to support their queer children.
The project was created by queer youth with the help of Majlis during 'LGBTQ Pride Month'.
The campaign features do's and don'ts for parents, based on feedback from queer individuals.
The initiative aims to make it easier for LGBTQ+ youth to come out to their parents.
