Court Rejects CBI Probe in 2008 Minor Death Case
A long time ago, in 2008, two young boys who were studying in a special school run by Asaram Ashram were found dead near a river.
The police investigated and charged seven people from the school with not being careful enough.
The father of one boy wanted a different police team, the CBI, to investigate.
But the court said no because the first police team already did their job.
The father is not happy and might ask a higher court to change the decision.
Some people think the boys might have been hurt by someone in the school.
Ahmedabad City Sessions Court rejected an application for a CBI probe into the 2008 deaths of two minors at an Asaram Ashram-run gurukul.
The Gujarat CID Crime Cell had already investigated and filed a chargesheet against seven gurukul office bearers for negligence.
The father of one of the deceased boys sought a CBI probe, but both the magisterial court and the sessions court dismissed his application.
The sessions court found no reasonable grounds to interfere with the magisterial court's decision.
The father plans to challenge the order in the High Court.
