Apple Cuts Over 200 Jobs in Siri, Vision Pro Reshuffle
Apple is changing several teams and cutting more than 200 jobs.
About half of the affected jobs are connected to Vision Pro, while the rest are connected to Siri and software.
Siri is being rebuilt with a new AI system that needs different kinds of workers.
Some old Siri jobs are ending, but Apple says new jobs will also be created.
Apple is reducing its work on Vision Pro gaming because the headset has not attracted many gamers.
It will also make fewer immersive 3D videos itself and ask outside companies to create more content.
Vision Pro and its visionOS software will continue, according to Apple.
The company is giving more attention to smart glasses and other future devices.
Apple is cutting more than 200 positions across Siri, Vision Pro and software teams.
About 100 roles are affected in the Vision Pro organization and roughly 100 in Siri and software groups.
The Siri restructuring supports an AI-focused assistant built on a new technical architecture requiring different expertise.
Apple is largely winding down Vision Pro gaming work and reducing in-house immersive-video production.
Apple says Vision Pro and visionOS will continue, while smart glasses and other future products receive greater priority.
