ChemVolt to Build 5 GWh Lithium-Ion Gigafactory in Andhra Pradesh
ChemVolt Global is building a big battery factory in Andhra Pradesh, India.
They will spend a lot of money (INR 2,500 crore) to make this factory, which will create many jobs.
The factory will make special batteries for things like electric cars and storing energy for the grid.
They will start making batteries in 2027 and finish the whole factory by 2029.
This will help India make more batteries at home and support clean energy.
ChemVolt Global is setting up a 5 GWh lithium-ion cell gigafactory in Andhra Pradesh with a INR 2,500 crore investment.
The factory will create 1,500 direct jobs and 4,000 indirect jobs, with Phase I targeting 1 GWh by Q3 2027 and Phase II reaching 5 GWh by Q2 2029.
The factory will produce 314 Ah and 750 Ah prismatic lithium-ion cells for grid-scale storage, heavy electric vehicles, and commercial & industrial applications.
ChemVolt Global has also launched four new Energy Storage System (ESS) products under the Starlight and Titan Series for utility-scale and commercial & industrial needs.
The project aims to strengthen India's domestic battery supply chains, create high-value jobs, and position India as a global hub for advanced lithium-ion cell production.
