EU approves 21 more Indian fishery units for seafood exports

India sells a lot of seafood to other countries.

The European Union, which is a group of countries in Europe, just said yes to 21 more Indian seafood factories.

This means those factories can now send their shrimp and other seafood to Europe.

Now there are 625 Indian seafood factories that can sell to Europe.

Europe is the third biggest buyer of Indian seafood, after China.

India also sells seafood to other places like Vietnam, China, and Russia.

In July 2026, India sold 18% more seafood than the year before.

In the first four months of the new year, India sold $2.88 billion worth of seafood.

Last year, India sold a record $8.43 billion of seafood, even though the United States put high taxes on it.

The United States is India's biggest seafood buyer, but the tax is now only 10%.

India hopes to sell even more seafood to Europe in the future.
