Thousands Gather at Shiva Temples on First Monday of Sawan

In India, a big religious month called Sawan starts on July 30 and ends on August 28.

On the first Monday of this month, millions of people went to temples that honor Lord Shiva.

In Varanasi, they dipped in the Ganga river and then prayed at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

In Haridwar, they visited the Daksha Mahadev Temple, where many think Lord Shiva stays at his in‑laws’ home and grants wishes.

In Deoghar, the Baba Baidyanath Temple was full of people, but the crowd was managed well.

Everyone praised the temple staff for keeping things organized, and many said they would come again next year.
