Bonalu fervour marks Pochamma Ammavaru celebrations in Vemulawada

In Vemulawada, people celebrated a festival called Bonalu.

Bonalu is a festival where people show thanks to a goddess.

The celebration happened at the Pochamma Ammavaru temple.

It was organised by the temple workers' group.

The day began with a big, colourful walk called a procession.

People played drums and sang devotional songs during the walk.

Devotees carried special pots, called bonams, to the goddess.

They prayed for good luck, wealth, and safety for their community.

A leader named Aadi Srinivas, the area's MLA, also performed special prayers at the temple.

He said Bonalu is about faith and being thankful.
