Central Council Proposes 30% Stipend Hike for Apprentices
Imagine you're learning a job through an apprenticeship.
The people in charge want to give you more money to help you with living costs.
Right now, apprentices get a certain amount of money each month, but they might get more soon!
The government is thinking about increasing the amount they get by 30%.
This means those in technical and non-technical apprenticeships will be supported better.
The increase will also help students stay in the program.
The goal is to have more people learn jobs through apprenticeships in India, like they do in other countries.
Central Apprenticeship Council (CAC) proposed a 30% stipend increase for apprentices.
The proposal aims to boost apprenticeship program attractiveness and address rising living costs.
Stipends will rise from Rs 5,000-9,000 to Rs 6,800-12,300 upon approval.
The stipend will be revised every two years based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
India's apprenticeship engagement is currently at 0.27%, lower than developed nations.
