Bengal replaces reps with officers for birth, death certificates
In West Bengal, the government has decided that government officers will now issue birth and death certificates instead of public representatives like pradhans and chairpersons.
This change is to make sure that the certificates are real and not fake.
Different officers like district magistrates, medical officers, and municipal commissioners will now be responsible for this task.
This applies to both rural areas and cities like Kolkata.
