Anu Garg appointed Odisha's first woman Chief Secretary
Anu Garg, a senior IAS officer, has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Odisha.
She is the first woman to hold this position in the state.
Garg is currently serving as the Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary in the Water Resources Department and the Planning and Convergence Department.
She has a background in Psychology, Sociology, and Public Health.
Garg will take over from Manoj Ahuja, who is retiring at the end of December.
She has previously served in various key positions in the Odisha government and different ministries under the Government of India.
Anu Garg, a 1991-batch IAS officer, is appointed as Odisha's first woman Chief Secretary.
She will replace Manoj Ahuja, who retires on December 31, 2023.
Garg currently serves as Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary in the Water Resources and Planning and Convergence Departments.
