Nepal Flood Survivors Demand Resettlement as Winter Approaches
A huge flood swept through parts of Nepal after a mountain and glacier collapse.
It destroyed many homes, roads, bridges, and settlements.
Many people died or are still missing.
Families who lost their homes are now living in tents.
They want a safe place to live and are worried about cold weather, cleanliness, and their children’s schooling.
Some have also lost their jobs and businesses.
Government officials say they are looking for places to resettle people and preparing temporary shelters.
Aid workers say recovery also means helping families earn a living and restoring important services.
A catastrophic flood on August 26 destroyed homes and settlements in northern Nepal.
The article reports more than 1,400 deaths, over 5,000 people missing, and more than 7,500 private houses damaged.
