Girls' Diploma Engineering Enrollment Doubles in Gujarat
More girls are choosing diploma engineering courses in Gujarat, with the number more than doubling in a year.
This year, about 18% of students in government programs are girls, up from just over 6% last year.
Overall, more students are enrolling in these programs, thanks to efforts like social media campaigns and school visits.
Popular courses like mechanical and civil engineering are doing well, while some others, like ICT and textile design, have seen fewer students.
Some seats are still open, and there might be another round of admissions.
Girl students in Gujarat's government diploma engineering programs increased from 6.29% to 18% in one year.
Overall diploma engineering admissions in government institutes saw an 88.24% rate, up from 84.11% the previous year.
Social media campaigns featuring female students and awareness camps in schools contributed to increased admissions.
Mechanical and civil engineering branches experienced strong admission rates, while ICT and textile designing declined.
After three rounds, some government seats remain vacant, and a fourth round might be considered.
