Retired Colonel Wins SC Case Against Karnal Road
A retired Army colonel named Davinder Singh Rajput won a big case in the Supreme Court.
He was fighting against a road that was built quickly in his neighborhood in Karnal.
This road cut down 40 trees and went through a green area that was supposed to be protected.
The colonel said the road was built to help the local BJP office, which is next to his house.
The Supreme Court agreed with him and ordered the government to fix the green area and find another way to build the road.
The colonel said this fight was even harder than fighting in a war because he had to go through many court processes.
He hopes this will help other people who might feel helpless against big decisions made by the government.
Colonel Davinder Singh Rajput won a Supreme Court case against a road constructed in Karnal that allegedly benefited the BJP office.
The road was built within days, cutting down 40 trees and bypassing a High Court status quo order.
The Supreme Court ordered the restoration of the green belt and directed the state to plan an alternative access road within three months.
Rajput argued that the road was unnecessary as another access road to the highway was just 100 yards away.
The HSVP and BJP officials denied any wrongdoing, stating the road was built for the safety of residents and commuters.
