India Orders Solar Project Retendering Due to Import Rules
The Indian government wants solar projects to use solar panels made in India.
Some agencies were trying to avoid this rule, which starts in June 2026, by quickly issuing tenders.
These agencies gave companies very short time to bid.
The Ministry of Renewable Energy noticed this and told the agencies to cancel the bids and start over.
This is to make sure projects use solar cells made in India, helping India become self-sufficient in solar cell production.
Agencies have 15 days to report back on what they are doing.
