In December 2025, two important award ceremonies were held in New Delhi to recognize achievements in energy.

The First DV Kapur Foundation Energy Innovation Awards were given to Dr. Achu Chandran for his work on a 'Nano Electricity Generator' and to NTPC’s R&D wing, NETRA, for their research on 'Green Use of Coal Technologies'.

President Droupadi Murmu presented the National Energy Conservation Awards 2025, where Chandigarh won the first position for its efforts in energy conservation.

The President emphasized the importance of energy conservation, noting that India’s energy efficiency efforts in 2023-24 saved 53.60 million tonnes of oil equivalent.

These awards aim to encourage new ideas and technologies that help India use energy in a cleaner and more sustainable way.
