India's Arya.ag in Talks with Nigeria for Agricultural Tech and Knowledge Sharing
Imagine a big Indian company called Arya.ag that helps farmers with their grains.
They are talking to Nigeria, a country in Africa, about sharing their secrets and tools.
Arya.ag knows how to build safe places to store crops, like big barns, and how to help farmers get small loans to start growing their food.
They did something similar in another African country called Ethiopia.
Arya.ag wants to help Nigeria with this, but they don't want to invest their own money there.
They say Africa has risks and they have seen other companies lose money.
Instead, they will only share their knowledge and technology.
In India, Arya.ag is already working with lots of farmers and helping them store and sell their crops, and they plan to do even more there.
They want to be a central part of how food gets from farms to people's plates in India.
Indian grain commerce platform Arya.ag is in discussions with Nigeria to share knowledge and technology for agricultural warehousing and seed finance.
Arya.ag's co-founder and CEO, Anand Chandra, clarified that the engagement would be on a consultancy basis, similar to their work in Ethiopia.
The company has no plans to make direct investments in Africa due to perceived risks and capital requirements.
Domestically, Arya.ag operates in 21 Indian states, handling millions of tonnes of commodities and facilitating billions in lending against agricultural products.
Arya.ag aims to be a comprehensive 'green operating system' for India's agri-commodity supply chain, providing finance, warehousing, and commerce services.
