Emami Aims to Boost D2C Revenue
Emami Ltd, a big company that makes things like talc and health products, wants to sell more of its products directly to customers.
Right now, only 6% of its money comes from selling directly to customers, but it wants to make that 20% in the next few years.
The company also thinks that selling through quick commerce (like fast delivery services) and modern trade (like big supermarkets) will become more important.
It had some problems this year because of too much rain, but it expects things to get better soon.
Emami is also working on making some of its older products more popular with younger people.
Emami Ltd aims to increase D2C revenue contribution from 6% to 20% over the next 3-4 years.
The company expects quick commerce to contribute 7-8% and modern trade to contribute 30-40% of its revenue in the same timeframe.
Currently, 70% of Emami's domestic revenue comes from general trade, with e-commerce and quick commerce contributing 12-13% and 1-1.5%, respectively.
Emami anticipates double-digit revenue growth in the second quarter of this fiscal year, despite a de-growth in the first half due to various factors.
The company is focusing on making its legacy products more appealing to younger consumers, with a particular emphasis on pain management and Boroplus products.
