OpenAI to Launch ChatGPT Adult Mode in 2026
OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, is planning to launch a new feature called Adult Mode in early 2026.
This mode will allow the chatbot to have more mature conversations and be less restrictive.
To make sure only adults can use this feature, OpenAI will use special technology to check users' ages.
Some people think this is a good idea because it gives adults more freedom, while others are worried about the risks, like people becoming too dependent on the AI or their private information being at risk.
OpenAI says they are taking steps to make sure the feature is safe to use.
OpenAI plans to release ChatGPT Adult Mode in the first quarter of 2026.
The mode will allow mature conversations and less restrictive interactions.
Age verification will be required, using AI-based age prediction and government ID checks.
Access to Adult Mode will be opt-in and not enabled by default.
OpenAI is currently testing the age prediction model in select countries.
