Film City Fire Prompts Safety Complaints and FIR Demand

Film City Fire Prompts Safety Complaints and FIR Demand

A fire broke out at Film City in Mumbai around 4 pm on 5 September.

No injuries were reported.

Smoke reached nearby sets, and some shoots were disrupted.

The All Indian Cine Workers Association says the incident shows that sets need better fire-safety arrangements.

It has asked Maharashtra’s chief minister for an investigation and an FIR against the makers of Pati Patni Aur Panga 2.

The association also wants Film City’s managing director to resign.

The production team says the fire was outside its set and no one was filming there at the time.

The two sides disagree about whether the production’s set lacked proper safety measures.
