BJP's Saurabh Joshi Elected Chandigarh Mayor
Chandigarh had an important election to choose its new Mayor and other leaders.
Three big political parties—BJP, AAP, and Congress—competed.
The BJP won with 18 votes, and their candidate Saurabh Joshi became the new Mayor.
He is a law graduate and has been involved in politics for many years.
The AAP and Congress did not work together, which helped the BJP win.
The election was done openly, not secretly, to make it fair.
The BJP also won the two Deputy Mayor posts.
Many leaders congratulated Saurabh Joshi on his victory.
BJP's Saurabh Joshi was elected as the new Mayor of Chandigarh with 18 votes.
AAP's Yogesh Dhingra received 11 votes, and Congress's Gurpreet Singh Sabi got 7 votes.
BJP also secured the two Deputy Mayor posts with Jasmanpreet Singh and Suman Sharma.
Congress did not contest the election for the deputies' posts.
AAP rejected reports of a tie-up with Congress, stating they would never ally with them.
