Punjab Assembly Caps Private School Fee Hikes at 5%

Punjab Assembly Caps Private School Fee Hikes at 5%

There is a place called Punjab where grown-ups make rules for the state.

These rule-makers, called the Punjab Assembly, made a new rule about private schools.

Private schools are schools where parents pay money for their children to study.

The new rule says these schools cannot raise their fees by more than 5% in one year.

If a school charges 100 rupees one year, it can only charge 105 rupees the next year.

Some schools have already taken too much money from parents.

The government will check school money records carefully, like a detective, to find these schools.

If a school took too much money, it must give the extra money back to the parents.

Schools that break the rule will pay a fine the first and second time.

If a school breaks the rule a third time, it can lose its permission to operate, helping keep parents treated fairly.
