Judge Blocks Trump Admin's Move to End Migrant Legal Status

Judge Blocks Trump Admin's Move to End Migrant Legal Status

A judge in Boston stopped the Trump administration from ending the legal status of 8,400 people who came to the U.S. from seven Latin American countries.

These people were allowed to live in the U.S. while waiting for their immigrant visas through a program started by President Biden.

The Trump administration wanted to end the program, saying it was being abused.

But the judge said the administration didn't give good reasons for ending it and didn't think about how these people would be affected.

The judge also said the administration didn't prove that there was fraud in the program.

The ruling came in a lawsuit by immigrant rights advocates challenging the administration's broader rollback of temporary parole for migrants.
