Kerala High Court Orders FIR in CMRL Case Against Vijayan

The Kerala High Court has told state investigators to register a formal case about alleged payments involving a mining company and an IT company.

The case names former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter Veena, and her husband, Mohammed Riyas, among others.

The Enforcement Directorate says Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited paid money to Veena’s company, Exalogic Solutions, for services it says were not provided.

Reports give different totals for the alleged payments, including Rs 2.78 crore and Rs 3.28 crore.

The state government had wanted investigators to make a preliminary inquiry before registering a case.

The court accepted advocate K. M. Shajahan’s request for an FIR.

Vijayan and Exalogic deny wrongdoing, and the CPI(M) says the agency probes are politically motivated.

The court’s detailed judgment has not yet been issued, and the allegations have not been proven in court.
