'Dragged, Shoved': Delhi Protest Seeks Gyanesh Kumar's Resignation

A group of people protested in Delhi against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

They gathered at Jantar Mantar on Friday, 25 September.

The protesters wanted him to resign.

They also wanted a voter-list review exercise called the Special Intensive Revision to be stopped.

The protest included student groups, civil society groups and several activists and political figures.

The Delhi Police and protesters had a three-hour confrontation, according to the report's headline.

The demonstration came after an investigation by The Indian Express.

That investigation questioned decisions connected to the voter-list exercise.

It also said Kumar did not act on complaints made by two other Election Commissioners.
