MP Urges IIM Establishment in Tirupati
A member of parliament from Tirupati, Dr. M. Gurumurthy, has asked the central government to open a new Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in his city.
He believes this will help students from nearby areas, especially those from villages and poorer families, to get good education without having to move to big cities.
Tirupati already has many colleges and good facilities, so it would be a suitable place for this new institute.
The MP also suggested that the government should make special rules to help students from backward areas get into this new IIM and receive scholarships.
He hopes the government will study this idea carefully and agree to set up the institute.
Tirupati MP Dr. M. Gurumurthy has requested the Union government to establish an IIM in Tirupati.
The proposal aims to strengthen higher education and promote balanced regional development.
An IIM in Tirupati would benefit students from rural areas and economically weaker sections by reducing the need to migrate for higher studies.
Tirupati's existing academic ecosystem and infrastructure make it a suitable location for a national-level institute.
The MP has requested a feasibility study and recognition of the proposed institute as an institution of national importance under the IIM Act, 2017, with special admission and scholarship provisions for students from backward and rural backgrounds.
