Indore Colleges Host Camps for First-Time Voter Registration

Indore Colleges Host Camps for First-Time Voter Registration

Three government colleges in Indore held special camps to help students register to vote.

The camps were for students who were at least 18 and had not registered yet.

Staff helped students understand what to do and what documents to bring.

One college reported 39 students registering on the first day and 57 on the last day.

A staff member at another college said about 15 to 20 students participated.

A student said the help was useful, especially for people who did not live in the city.

Turning 18 makes someone eligible to register, but their name must be on the electoral roll before they can vote.

The camps aimed to make registration easier and encourage young people to take part in democracy.
