Purattasi Saturday Draws Huge Crowds to Tirumala Temple

Many people went to the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala on Saturday.

They came to pray on the third Saturday of Purattasi, a month that is special to many worshippers of Lord Vishnu.

The temple became very crowded.

People waited in long lines, which reached the Octopus Building.

Some people waited more than 24 to 30 hours for Dharma Darshan.

While waiting, devotees chanted “Govinda.”

Pilgrims came from different parts of the country.

Many said the temple staff had managed the crowds well, even though the wait was long.
