Kerala railway safety drive arrests 33 under Operation Rakshitha

Police in Kerala, a state in India, wanted to make train travel safer for women and children.

They started a special safety operation called 'Operation Rakshitha'.

Police checked 13 railway police stations across Kerala during June and July.

They arrested 33 people for bad behaviour on trains, such as being rude to women, hurting them, or invading their privacy.

Of those arrested, 25 people were remanded, meaning they were held for the legal process.

The police said special surveillance and inspections would continue.

Railway Police Superintendent B Krishnakumar said legal action under the operation would keep going.

Passengers who face difficulty or harassment are told to ask the Railway Police for help immediately.

They can also call 112 or use police apps like Rail Maithri and Rail Alert for support.
