Hindu homes burned in Bangladesh suspected attack
In a village in Bangladesh, five houses belonging to Hindu families were set on fire.
The families were trapped inside because the doors were locked from the outside.
They managed to escape by cutting through the walls, but their homes and pets were completely destroyed.
The police are investigating the incident and have arrested five people.
This happened a week after another violent incident in the country, where a man was killed and set on fire over allegations of blasphemy.
The exact cause of the fire is still not confirmed, but it is suspected to be a targeted attack on minorities.
Additionally, a 22-year-old Hindu youth named Joy Sarkar was arrested for making allegedly blasphemous remarks on social media, stating that Hinduism is the oldest religion.
This incident occurred in Faridpur District, just a week after another man was lynched to death by an Islamist mob.
The authorities are taking strict action to maintain law and order and protect religious sentiments.
