Telangana is in 10th place in a list that shows how good states are at attracting investments.
Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu are the top three.

No state scored above 60, and states are classified into top performers, frontrunners, and aspiring states based on their scores.
Telangana ranked 10th in NITI Aayog’s Investment Friendliness Index (IFI) 2026 with a score of 47.3.
Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu secured the top three positions with scores of 56.6, 53.7, and 53.3 respectively.
Telangana excelled in institutional environment and business climate but needs improvement in infrastructure and resource/deep-skilling.
The IFI framework evaluates states across eight pillars and 84 indicators to assess investment attractiveness.
NITI Aayog emphasized the need for stronger investment-led growth to achieve the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
