Windsurf Launches SWE-1 AI Models for Software Engineering
Windsurf, a company that makes AI, has created new AI models called the SWE-1 series to help software engineers.
These models are like assistants that can do more than just write code.
The series includes different versions: SWE-1 (for subscribers, and like Claude 3.5 Sonnet), SWE-1-lite (for general coding), and SWE-1-mini (for quick, real-time tasks).
The goal is for these AI models to help with all the complex parts of making software.
While the first version's scores weren't perfect, the company plans to keep improving the models to be better at understanding what engineers need, like understanding feedback and managing tasks over time.
Windsurf, an AI platform, released the SWE-1 series of AI models focused on software engineering.
The SWE-1 series includes SWE-1, SWE-1-lite, and SWE-1-mini, each designed for specific use cases.
The SWE-1 frontier model is available to subscribers and is said to perform at the level of Claude 3.5 Sonnet.
SWE-1-lite is a lightweight model for everyday coding tasks, while SWE-1-mini is suited for real-time tasks.
The company plans to develop the SWE family further, despite the benchmark scores not being as high as expected.
