New Mangalore Port Installs Air Quality Monitoring Station
The New Mangalore Port has set up a new air quality monitoring station to keep an eye on the air.
It cost a lot of money and will work for five years, tracking things like tiny particles and gases in the air.
This station sends its data to the government so they can make sure the air is safe.
It also shows the air quality information for everyone to see, helping people understand what's happening with the air around them.
The goal is to keep the air clean and protect people's health.
New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) commissioned a real-time air quality monitoring station.
The station cost ₹2.76 crore and will be maintained until July 2030.
It monitors pollutants like PM10, PM2.5, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide.
Data is transmitted live to the KSPCB and CPCB for regulatory oversight.
Information is displayed publicly at the port gate to encourage awareness.
