Court Rejects Rizwan Petition as PCB Weighs Action

Court Rejects Rizwan Petition as PCB Weighs Action

A court in Lahore rejected Muhammad Rizwan’s request to stop notices from a government investigation agency.

Rizwan’s lawyer said the player was questioned and that his phone was taken after a cricket match.

The lawyer also said the phone had not been returned.

He argued that cricket’s anti-corruption body, rather than the government agency, should handle the matter.

The agency is checking the phones of Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq.

It plans to send its findings to the Pakistan Cricket Board.

The board will then decide whether any punishment or other action is needed.

The players may receive a reprieve if the examination finds nothing unusual.
