NSS Withdraws from Unity Move with SNDP Yogam
In Kerala, India, two big community groups, NSS and SNDP Yogam, were thinking about joining together.
But NSS decided to back out because they thought there might be political reasons behind the idea.
NSS said they want to stay friends with SNDP Yogam but don't think a formal unity is possible right now.
The leader of SNDP Yogam, Vellapally Natesan, was recently given a big award called the Padma Bhushan.
The Congress party said they want all communities to stay united but won't get involved in the groups' decisions.
NSS withdrew from a proposed unity move with SNDP Yogam due to suspected political motives.
NSS maintains that it keeps an equal distance from all political parties.
SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellapally Natesan was awarded the Padma Bhushan.
Congress leaders stated they do not intervene in the internal matters of community organizations.
UDF convener Adoor Prakash expressed a desire to bring both NSS and SNDP Yogam together.
