Physicist warns of space threats and doomsday system
A scientist named Laura Grego is worried about space.
She says humans are making space dangerous with lots of satellites and missiles.
There are rules to keep space peaceful, but some countries want to use it for military purposes.
She thinks this could lead to big problems, like a 'doomsday' situation.
She also says that too many satellites are being launched, which could make it hard to see the stars at night.
She wants people to know about these issues so we can fix them.
Physicist Laura Grego warns of a 'doomsday system' in space due to military satellites and nuclear threats.
The Outer Space Treaty of 1967 prohibits nuclear weapons in space but lacks clarity on other military uses.
SpaceX's Starlink satellites are crowding low-Earth orbit, with plans to launch up to 1 million more.
Nuclear timelines and the fear of 'use them or lose them' create urgency for quick reactions, increasing the risk of conflict.
Countries are developing systems to attack enemy satellites, and AI could speed up decision-making with little accountability.

Pro-Space Commercialization
Anti-Space Militarization
Commercial Use of Space
Pro-Space Commercialization
Companies like SpaceX should be allowed to launch satellites for commercial purposes to advance technology and connectivity.
Anti-Space Militarization
The rapid increase in satellites is causing crowding in space and disrupting the natural view of the night sky.
Military Use of Space
Pro-Space Commercialization
Military satellites are necessary for national security and defense against potential threats.
Anti-Space Militarization
Military satellites and ICBMs in space increase the risk of conflict and could lead to a civilization-ending day.
