India’s 7% Growth Faces Capital, Investment and Judicial Hurdles

India’s 7% Growth Faces Capital, Investment and Judicial Hurdles

India’s economy has grown by more than 7% for four years in a row.

Economists said this growth is real but could become harder to maintain.

India needs more than $60 billion in foreign capital each year.

Higher global interest rates and competition from countries such as South Korea and Taiwan could make that money harder to attract.

Businesses are also not investing enough in new factories and infrastructure.

Courts can take too long to settle business disagreements, leaving large sums of money stuck.

Experts suggested faster legal processes, infrastructure sales or leasing, and helping smaller businesses join global supply chains.

They said these steps are important if India wants strong growth for the next 15 years.
