HDFC Bank Shares Fall Amid Margin Concerns
HDFC Bank, which is the biggest private bank in India, recently shared its results for the first three months of 2026.
They made more money than last year, with a 5% increase in profit.
However, their total income was less than the previous year.
The bank's interest income went up a bit.
But, some experts were worried because the bank made less money from its loans than they expected.
Because of this, the price of the bank's shares went down by 4%.
HDFC Bank reported a 5% increase in standalone profit to ₹19,060 crore for the June quarter.
Shares fell 4% due to a sharper-than-expected decline in margins.
Total income dropped to ₹92,184 crore from ₹99,200 crore year-over-year.
Interest income increased to ₹79,363 crore from ₹77,470 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
Analysts were concerned about the decline in margins despite steady loan growth and stable asset quality.
