BC Leaders to Unveil Phule, Papanna Goud Statues in Hyderabad
Some important leaders in the Indian state of Telangana work to help communities that are called Backward Classes, which have often struggled to get fair chances in life.
These leaders decided to put up statues of two famous heroes, Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule, who long ago worked to make education possible for everyone.
They will show the statues on August 14 in a city called Hyderabad.
They also decided to show a statue of another hero named Papanna Goud on August 18.
The leaders want the Chief Minister of the state to come to both ceremonies.
They met at the home of the minister who looks after Backward Classes welfare to plan these events.
They talked about building special buildings for Backward Class groups and about helping students get school fee money that is owed to them.
They also hope to create a special plan with enough money to help these communities grow stronger.
In the end, the leaders want the people of these communities to be able to get education, jobs, and a stronger voice in society.
Backward Classes leaders, including ministers and MLAs, will unveil statues of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule near the HMDA ground in Hyderabad on August 14.
Statues of Sardar Sarvai Papanna Goud will be unveiled on Tank Bund on August 18.
Leaders decided to jointly invite Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to attend both programmes and apprise him of issues facing BC communities.
At a meeting at BC welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar's residence, leaders resolved to expedite Atma Gaurava Bhavans construction and release pending fee reimbursement dues in phases.
Leaders resolved to work towards a BC sub-plan with adequate budgetary allocations and to strengthen the BC Commission and the Congress party at the grassroots level.
