Jammu and Kashmir Expands VPN Ban to More Districts
The authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have decided to ban the use of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) in three more districts: Kupwara, Shopian, and Kulgam.
This ban is for two months in Kupwara and is aimed at stopping people from using VPNs for activities that could harm national security.
The police have been told to make sure everyone follows this rule strictly.
If someone breaks the rule, they could get in trouble with the law.
This is because VPNs can be used to do things online that the government doesn't allow, like spreading false information or planning activities that could cause trouble.
In Doda district, two people were recently caught using VPNs and were booked for breaking the rules.
The police are also checking people's phones to make sure no one is using VPNs illegally.
VPN ban extended to Kupwara, Shopian, and Kulgam districts in Jammu and Kashmir.
Ban cited for public safety, cyber security, and maintenance of law and order.
District Magistrates issued orders based on police reports of increased suspicious VPN usage.
Legal action threatened for violations, with police directed to enforce the ban strictly.
More than 10 people have been booked for using VPNs in the last month, with recent arrests in Doda district.
