Borra Caves See Dip in Tourist Footfall
Borra Caves, a popular tourist spot, had fewer visitors in October and November 2025 than usual.
This is because of construction work and travel warnings due to a storm.
Officials hope more people will visit once the work is done and the weather improves.
Borra Caves in Anakapalle district witnessed a decline in tourist arrivals in October and November 2025.
Total footfall up to October 2025-26 was 3.23 lakh, a dip of 10,086 tourists compared to the same period last year.
While April, July, and September saw growth, October saw a sharp decline with only 63,621 visitors compared to 86,663 in 2024-25.
Construction of resorts and tourism facilities, and travel advisories due to Cyclone Mantha contributed to the slump.
APTDC officials hope for a rebound once infrastructure upgrades are completed and weather conditions stabilize.
