403 Gram Panchayats in Jalgaon Get CCTV Surveillance
In Jalgaon, India, the government is putting up cameras in village offices and nearby areas.
This is part of a big plan to make villages safer and more transparent.
So far, cameras have been installed in 403 out of 1160 village offices.
The leader of this project, Minal Karanwal, says the cameras will help keep an eye on things and make people trust the government more.
The plan is to add cameras to all village offices step by step.
Other things they're doing include making village services available online and building structures to collect water.
403 out of 1160 Gram Panchayats in Jalgaon have CCTV cameras installed, covering 34.74% of the total.
The initiative is part of the Chief Minister's Prosperous Gram Panchayat Campaign.
CCTV cameras aim to increase security, transparency, and curb malpractices in Gram Panchayat offices and villages.
The campaign will be implemented in a phased manner in the remaining Gram Panchayats.
Other initiatives under the campaign include digitizing Gram Panchayats, online services, water harvesting structures, and ISO certification.
