Iran’s Pezeshkian Says BRICS Challenges US Unilateralism

Iran’s president said BRICS should help countries work together without depending on the United States.

He described US sanctions as unfair restrictions imposed on countries individually.

Pezeshkian said BRICS was created to challenge this kind of unilateral action.

He also said the United States started the recent conflict with Iran.

Iran, he said, responded to defend itself after attacks on people and infrastructure.

BRICS leaders meeting in New Delhi called for restraint and peaceful solutions to violence in West Asia.

India’s prime minister said disputes should be settled through talks and diplomacy.

Pezeshkian also said Iran’s Chabahar port could help connect India with Central Asia and other regions.

He said India and Iran could cooperate through investment, trade and wider regional partnerships.
