Magathane–Goregaon DP Road Progresses; Lottery for 120 Families
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is helping families in Mumbai move to new homes so a big road can be built.
On December 15, a lottery will decide who gets 120 new homes in Kandivali.
After that, 38 more families will move to different homes.
The road project has been delayed, but people are hopeful it will finish by February 2026.
Some residents are worried that upcoming elections might slow things down.
The BMC and local groups have been working together to make this happen.
Lottery for 120 residential units for project-affected persons (PAPs) in Kandivali (E)’s Singh Estate on December 15, 2024.
Remaining 38 structures to be relocated in the third phase, with demolition to follow immediately after the lottery.
BMC rejected the chief minister’s direction to realign the road, stating it is technically not possible.
Residents fear upcoming municipal elections may delay the final phase of the project.
Lokhandwala Residents' Association (LRA) has been rigorously following up with the BMC to ensure timely implementation of the DP road.
