Cochin International Airport FY26 profit surpasses Rs 500 crore
An airport is like a big house for airplanes.
This airport is in Kochi, India, and it is called Cochin International Airport.
The people who run it announced that they made a lot of money this year.
They earned more than ever before, 502 crore rupees, which is a very big amount.
Last year they earned a little less, 499 crore rupees.
More than one crore people traveled through this airport during the year.
That is the fourth year in a row with such a large number of passengers.
The airport also wants to start a new business giving advice to other airports.
This is because India plans to spend over 50,000 crore rupees building and improving airports in the future.
The company also wants to give some of its profit to the people who own part of it.
CIAL reported FY26 total revenue of Rs 1,220 crore, a 6.6 per cent year-on-year growth.
Net profit rose from Rs 499 crore in FY25 to Rs 502 crore in FY26, the first time it crossed Rs 500 crore.
The board recommended a 55 per cent dividend for shareholders for FY 2025-26, subject to approval at the Annual General Meeting.
The airport handled 1,14,42,583 passengers and 73,134 aircraft movements, retaining its one crore-plus passenger milestone for a fourth consecutive year.
The board approved entering the airport consultancy business, with over Rs 50,000 crore in investments expected in India's airport sector over the next decade.
