Delhi BJP MLA Booked Over Alleged Assault on Dalit Leader

Police have opened a case against Delhi BJP MLA Gajendra Drall and other party workers.

The complaint was filed by Sunil Kumar, a Dalit BJP mandal president.

Kumar says he was called to a party office to discuss voter lists.

He alleges that he was beaten, held inside the office and insulted with caste-based words.

He also claimed that cameras were turned off during the incident.

Police have registered charges under several criminal laws and are investigating.

The BJP has asked both Drall and Kumar to explain their sides to its disciplinary committee.

The Aam Aadmi Party is demanding that Drall be removed from office.
